Patrick O’Brien

Patrick O’Brien is the President of Security Resources Pacific the leading Security Systems Integrator in the Asia-Pacific Region. In January of 2023 Security Resources Pacific joined Zeus Fire and Security, the industry leader in fire and security solutions. Patrick O’Brien has dedicated his professional career to protecting people, property and profits in the State of Hawaii. 32 years ago Mr. O’Brien came to Hawaii and utilized his expertise and experience in the Private security industry to protect the assets of Duty Free Shoppers Hawaii (DFS Hawaii), the largest international retailer in the state, as their Director of Loss Prevention.

In 2000 he founded Security Resources Pacific. Security Resources has been recognized by the community and Hawaii’s Law Enforcement and Security industry as the premier security integrator in the region. Security Resources received the Outstanding Organization award recognition from the Law Enforcement and Security Coalition of Hawaii. This was the only time in the 18-year history of the award program that a security integrator has been recognized. In addition, Security Resources and their team of professionals have been awarded many community and industry awards including multiple Governor’s Commendations, a Mayor’s award of Recognition, “Top Cop” awards, and their President/Founder has been inducted into the Hawaii Joint Police Association Hall of Fame.

Mr. O’Brien has extensive knowledge and experience in the development, design and implementation of security systems companies and government agencies on a local, national, and international level. For the past 30 years, he has designed and implemented and supported numerous integrated security systems including statewide Integrated Homeland Security Systems for Hawaii, protecting critical infrastructure areas. In addition, Mr. O’Brien has developed and coordinated many of the Pacific Regions advanced security projects. Mr. O’Brien is a past board member and President of the Hawaii Joint Police Association, The Law Enforcement Foundation, and Hawaii Visitors Industry Security Association. He is regularly consulted on physical security issues, trends, and technology by the media and industry leaders in the Pacific region. Mr. O’Brien has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a Private Security concentration from Northeastern University. Patrick resides with his family on the island of Oahu, in the “Aloha” State of Hawaii.
